Investigations begin in Kenya after the discovery of 6 mutilated bodies
Kenya police launched an investigation on Saturday, a day after mutilated bodies were found in a slum south of Nairobi in front of angry crowds.
According to the Nissan report, the Independent Police Oversight Authority in Kenya has announced the initiation of an investigation into suspected police involvement. It was created by parliament in 2011 to provide civilian oversight of an influential institution long known for corruption.
This comes a day after Nairobi police found six badly mutilated bodies, all women, to varying degrees of decomposition in the Mukoro slum, south of the capital.
In this regard, the monitoring body recognized the bodies of at least 9 people, including 7 women and 2 men. This source added: The bodies were wrapped in bags and tied with nylon ropes, which had signs of torture and were clearly mutilated, and their dumping place is less than 100 meters away from the police station.
While the police investigation continues, the independent police watchdog is conducting an independent preliminary investigation to determine whether the police were involved in the deaths or failed to prevent them, the watchdog said. .
