Continued secret calls by Democrats for Biden to step down

CNN reported that Democrats are still privately asking Biden to drop out of the race.

Democrat efforts to persuade US President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race privately continue, although there are few overt calls for him to drop out.

This TV channel quoted sources in the American Democratic Party as saying: “In recent days, public calls by Democrats for Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race have decreased, but private efforts to influence the president and his aides continue.”

It is noted that Stanley Greenberg, a leading sociologist of the Democratic Party, is among those who want to voluntarily withdraw from Biden’s candidacy. Over the past two weeks, he has sent a number of memos to Biden’s inner circle analyzing internal polls that show the president’s deteriorating position, sources said. According to Greenberg, most Americans do not believe that Biden can hold the presidency for another four years.

A number of congressional Democrats continue their efforts to convey to those around the president the extent of the damage that will be done to the president’s legacy if he loses the election and the Republicans gain control of the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Calls for an immediate search for a new Democratic nominee began after the debate, when Biden shocked the audience with a languor, confusion and lack of focus, which many saw as a sign of the 81-year-old president’s aging decline.

Now politicians and journalists say that the Democrats may refuse to nominate Biden. At the same time, he says that he intends to stay in the competition and go to the end and says that there is no better candidate than him.
