Resurgence of protests in Kenya with dozens killed and injured

In another clash between security forces and protesters in Kenya, one person was killed and several others were injured.

Protests to the increase in taxes in Kenya, although it had decreased in the past days, but once again popular demonstrations turned violent and left human casualties.

According to the Reuters news agency, one protester died and dozens of others were injured when the security forces intervened in the demonstration of protesters in Kenya who demanded the resignation of the country’s president.

Now, although the president of Kenya has withdrawn from the controversial plan to increase taxes and fired many members of his cabinet because of this plan, the youth of this country continue to protest in the last month.

In the town of Katingla in the southern suburbs of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, the police opened fire directly at the protesters to disperse thousands of protesters who were throwing stones at the security forces. Security forces also used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters.

Kenya’s Ministry of Interior, without mentioning today’s protests, announced the maximum restraint of the security forces in front of the protesters and demanded the re-establishment of peace in the country and the protesters’ respect for the laws.

At least 50 civilians have lost their lives since the beginning of the protests in Kenya.
