Russia warns NATO against direct conflict

A Russian official considered Ukraine's joining NATO as a direct conflict between Russia and NANO member countries.

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy head of the Russian Security Council, said that Ukraine’s joining NATO would be a declaration of war against Moscow, and emphasized that only the disintegration of this alliance can prevent the destruction of the planet.

At the NATO summit last week, NATO leaders pledged to support Ukraine on an irreversible path towards Euro-Atlantic integration, including NATO membership, but did not specify when Ukraine would be able to join, Al-Mayadin reported. Let NATO come.

Medvedev told the Russian newspaper Argumenti Facti that Ukraine’s membership would be more than a direct threat to Moscow’s security. In a statement published on Wednesday, he added: “This (Ukraine’s joining the coalition) will basically be a declaration of war.”

This Russian official also announced: The actions that Russia’s opponents have been taking against us for years, including the expansion of the alliance, will bring NATO to the point of no return.

Medvedev stressed that Russia does not threaten NATO, but will respond to the alliance’s expansion efforts. He continued: The more these efforts increase, the faster our responses will be.

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council said: The fact that Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO, openly considers the possible joining of Ukraine to this alliance in 2034 as a positive development, is not a coincidence, because the meaning of this word is that such an event will never happen. It is also quite possible that Ukraine will not have a foreign existence by that time.
