Bridge collapse in China with at least 11 victims and 30 missing

The collapse of a part of a bridge in northwest China left at least 11 victims.

Xinhua wrote that the rescue teams pulled out five vehicles from the river and the rescue operation is still ongoing. Singapore’s CNA news channel has written that more than 30 people are missing in this incident.

Wide parts of northern and central China have been grappling with heavy rain and flooding since Tuesday last week, causing extensive damage. Earlier, Chinese state media reported the death of at least five people and the disappearance of eight others following torrential rains, landslides and mudslides in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province.

According to Xinhua, the storm overshadowed 991 thousand people in Anhui province and forced 242 thousand people to evacuate.
