Russia and Afghanistan also abandon the dollar

The Russian ambassador in Afghanistan announced that the two countries are abandoning the dollar in bilateral trade in order to deal with Western sanctions.

reported by Mehr Reporter quoted by Tass, Dmitry Zhirnov, the Russian ambassador to Afghanistan, announced that in order to counter Western sanctions, the two countries have decided to use rubles or Afghanis instead of dollars in bilateral exchanges.

He said: Russia and Afghanistan are under illegitimate and unilateral sanctions, and distancing themselves from the dollar is one of the available options. Of course, Afghanistan still needs to work on its currency exchange.

The Russian ambassador in Kabul also said that in addition to the development of economic relations between the two countries, the volume of trade between them is also increasing, and Russian exports to Afghanistan are growing rapidly.
