Foreign Minister of Ukraine goes to China
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency According to the Reuters news agency, 29 months after the start of the war in Ukraine, now the authorities of Kiev are trying to find a diplomatic solution to end this conflict. Appealing to China as one of the world powers close to Russia is one of these options.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced today (Monday) that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country, Dmitri Kolba, is going to travel to Beijing this week (July 23-25) and meet with the authorities. The senior Chinese leader, including the foreign minister of this country, will meet and discuss.
This statement states: The main focus of the talks between the officials of the two countries will be to find a solution to end the war in Ukraine.
This trip is strange from the point of view that China is considered as one of the close partners of Russia and in 2022 it will end its unlimited relations with Moscow at the same time as sanctions The West declared against this country. Beijing did not even attend the Swiss peace meeting regarding the resolution of the Ukraine war because of Russia’s non-participation.
However, although China, the world’s second largest economy, has not condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine, Kiev has avoided outright criticism of Beijing’s positions.
Previously, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban traveled to Ukraine, Russia, and China to seek a peace initiative to end the war in Ukraine. However, the European Union and Ukraine did not welcome this initiative.
