This typhoon, which is called “Karina” in the Philippines, will bring heavy rains. The countryside of Taiwan experienced heavy rains yesterday under the influence of Karina. The exercise of the air force of this island was also canceled on its eastern coast. The provision of maritime services was also suspended. Schools and tourist places on this island were also closed until further notice.
Although this devastating typhoon in the Philippines did not lead to landslides, it intensified the monsoon rains. These rains subsequently fueled dozens of landslides in this archipelago in a span of five days. Following heavy rains and floods and landslides, 35 thousand people out of 600 thousand displaced people have been accommodated in emergency shelters.
