Moscow: “Mir Card” will soon be available in Iran
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko expressed hope for the launch and use of the Russian banking network cards (Meir Card) in the near future in Iran.
Rudenko expressed hope about this issue and said that this event will completely resolve the issue of connecting the payment systems between the two countries.
Mohammedreza Farzin, the head of the Central Bank of Iran, met with Elvira Nabiullina, his Russian counterpart, on July 4. He announced on July 6 that in this meeting, the parties emphasized on completing the process of connecting the “Mir” system and Iran’s payment system (Shatab).
According to Farzin, Iranian citizens will be able to withdraw rubles from all Russian ATMs using cards connected to the Shatab system from August 22. Also, according to the plan, in the next stages of this project, Russians will be able to use “Mir” cards in Iran, and Shatab card holders will also be able to use Iranian bank cards to buy products from Russian stores.
