The United States authorized the sale of 2.8 billion weapons to Saudi Arabia
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, citing Anatoly, the US State Department approved the sale of military weapons worth 2.8 billion dollars to Saudi Arabia. This package includes weapons system logistics and sustainment support.
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced that it has issued the necessary license to sell military weapons to Saudi Arabia. According to the announcement of this institution, the US Congress has been involved in the sale of these weapons to Saudi Arabia.
A statement from the Defense Security Cooperation Agency of the United States states that the said arms sale will enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ability to prevent current and future threats by providing training and support. It upgrades the existing platforms and aircraft fleet of the Saudi Air Force.
US Defense Security Cooperation Agency evaluated this action in line with the country’s foreign policy and national security goals.
