Schultz: Harris can win the US election

Donald Trump, the former president and current candidate of the Republican Party in the US presidential elections, hates NATO and has repeatedly criticized the Europeans for taking a free ride from the United States. Therefore, it is not surprising that the European authorities are not interested in his victory in the upcoming elections.  

According to Reuters news agency, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz praised Kamala Harris, Joe Biden’s vice-president and the possible candidate of the Democratic Party in the November elections, today (Wednesday) and announced: Harris, as a qualified and experienced politician, can win the upcoming elections.

He further added: Now with the change of candidate of the Democrats and a new electoral composition, the election campaign in America will undoubtedly be attractive. I believe that there is a strong possibility that Harris can win the election, but in the end it is the American voters who will decide the winner of the election.  

Reuters continues this report: Many German politicians are worried about Trump’s re-election to the White House, because he has openly talked about increasing customs tariffs and making US support for NATO member countries conditional.  

During his tenure in the White House from January 2017 to 2021, Trump had repeatedly criticized Germany for underinvesting in its defense power and the country’s trade surplus with the United States.
