203 dead and injured after a terrible storm in Taiwan
The storm “Gami” is blowing in East Asia and its intensity is still increasing.
According to the Reuters news agency, at the same time as the terrible typhoon “Gami” approached Taiwan, this country closed the financial markets and canceled all flights. Meanwhile, the island’s army is now on standby to help the possibly affected people.
Typhoon Gami, expected to be the strongest typhoon in eight years, has hit Taiwan, bringing torrential rains and causing landslides in the east of the island.
Now the speed of this terrible storm has reached 227 kilometers per hour. It is estimated that this storm will reach the Fujian region of China tomorrow after passing through the Taiwan Strait.
Local authorities have declared financial markets and schools closed for Thursday. So far, at least 2 people have died in Taiwan due to this storm. One of these victims died due to a falling tree and the other due to the facade of the building falling on their car. Also, 201 people were injured due to this storm.
Local authorities have evacuated more than 8,000 people from high-risk areas due to landslides. Now, 29,000 military personnel of the army are on standby to provide services to the injured if necessary.
