Australia sanctions against Israeli settlers
A few months have passed since the US and some European countries sanctioned the Zionist “violent settlers”, Australia finally gave in to the sanctions against a number of settlers.
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wang announced that the country imposed financial sanctions and an entry ban on seven Israeli settlers and a group known as “Hilltop Youth”.
According to him, these seven people “have been involved in violent attacks, including beatings, rape and torture against Palestinians”, attacks that have resulted in serious injuries and in some cases death.
The action of Australia was carried out in a situation where the forced resignation of a pro-Palestinian senator last month made headlines in Australia. Fateme Peyman, an Afghan-born senator of the Australian Parliament, resigned from the ruling party of this country due to her support for Palestine.
According to the report of The Times of Israel, Australia’s embargo against Israeli settlers followed the actions of America, Japan and some European countries.
Yinon Levy, Zvi Bar Youssef, Neria Ben Pazzi, Elisha Yerd, David Chai Chasdai, Inan Tanjil and Meir Ettinger were placed on Australia’s sanctions list. Some of these settlers were previously sanctioned by other western countries.
Australia’s foreign minister said that the country wants Israel to stop its illegal settlement activity, which only inflames tensions and weakens the two-state solution.
