28 thousand Ukrainian drones shot down since the beginning of the war with Russia

The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced the downing of 28,000 Ukrainian drones since the beginning of the military conflict with this country in the last 2.5 years.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia announced in a statement that since the beginning of “special military operations” in Ukraine (from the fifth of March 1400 until now), 630 airplanes, 278 helicopters, 28 thousand and 464 drones of the other side have been shot down.

Also, according to this report and the official statistics of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, 556 aerial anti-missile systems, 16,684 tanks and other war machines, 1,390 missile launch systems, 12,000 and 416 artillery guns and mortars and 24 thousand 86 special military vehicles have been destroyed by the Russian army in Ukraine.

This report adds that in the past week alone, the Russian air defense system has managed to shoot down and destroy 623 drones, one Mi-8 helicopter and dozens of American-made missiles.

On February 21, 2022 (March 2, 1400), Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region, criticizing the West’s inattention to Moscow’s security concerns.

Three days after that, on Thursday, February 24 (March 5, 1400), Putin launched a Russian military operation against Ukraine, which he called a “special operation”, and thus the tense relations between Moscow and Kiev turned into a military confrontation.

Also, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine (during the last thirty months), the Western countries have imposed thousands of sanctions against Russia and made this country the destination of the heaviest sanctions in the world. The main goal of the international sanctions, which include everything from individuals to important industries in this country’s economy, has been to isolate Moscow and Russia’s customers.
