Lukashenko: We are expanding cooperation with North Korea

In a message to the leader of North Korea, the president of Belarus has promised to expand cooperation with Pyongyang.

According to the Reuters news agency, the statement of the North Korean Foreign Ministry quoted Lukashenko as saying: “I am sure that we can deepen and expand cooperation with North Korea and have joint plans for the common benefit and well-being of the people of the two countries.” »

This message was sent by the President of Belarus in response to Pyongyang’s congratulatory message on the occasion of the National Day of Belarus.

Both North Korea and Belarus have close relations with Russia, which has faced serious sanctions from Western countries, especially the United States, since 2022 following its attack on Ukraine.

North Korea’s official news agency KCNA also reported that the country’s foreign minister had a discussion with the Belarusian foreign minister about the comprehensive deepening of relations between Pyongyang and Minsk.
