Abu Shuja’a Tulkarem battalion commander and symbol of resistance in the West Bank

Aboushjaa was born in the Nurshams camp in the city of Tulkarem in the West Bank, and like other Palestinian people, he was subjected to oppression and aggression by the forces of the Israeli occupation regime.

Aboushjaa, who is a member of a Palestinian family that was expelled from the city of Haifa by the occupying regime in 1948, could not complete his education due to the difficult conditions.

After witnessing the suffering and problems of the Palestinian nation since childhood due to the actions of the occupying regime, he decided to participate in the resistance activities in the West Bank and was able to become one of the resistance commanders in the West Bank.

Abooshjaa entered the world of resistance very soon. At the age of 17, he was arrested for the first time by the forces of the Zionist regime. He was arrested not only once, but also twice and spent about five years in the prisons of the Zionist regime.

He was not only arrested by the Zionists, but he was also arrested twice by the security apparatus of the Palestinian Authority.

His older brother was also arrested many times by the forces of the occupying regime, but his younger brother Ahmed has been in the prisons of the Zionist regime since 2 years ago.

His other brother Mahmoud was also martyred during the attack of the Zionist forces on the Nurshams camp.

In the shadow of the Zionist regime’s repeated attacks on the camp of Nurshams Abu Shujaa and the group under his leadership, they repeatedly opposed surrender and he is still wanted.

During this period, his family’s house was subjected to numerous attacks by the forces of the occupying regime and was destroyed many times.

The media of the Zionist regime emphasized that Abu Shuja’a is one of the most important people wanted by the Zionist regime and a person who disturbs the stability in the north of the West Bank.

According to these media, although Abu Shujaa grew up in a simple home, his personality and abilities have made him a symbol and commander.

April 21, 2024, everyone was surprised by the presence of Abu Shujaa at the funeral ceremony of the martyrs of Tulkarm city, because the occupying regime had announced his assassination a few days before, following intense clashes in the Nurshams camp. These clashes took place for 50 hours, during which 14 Palestinians were martyred.

On Friday, local sources told Al Jazeera that a number of residents of Tulkarem managed to take Abu Shujaa out of Thabit Thabit State Hospital and transfer him to the camp.

The forces of the Palestinian Authority surrounded him in this hospital and planned to arrest him.

After Muhammad Jaber was released from Al-Quds Battalions Hospital, he threatened the security apparatus of the Palestinian Authority and announced: “Whoever attacks us, we will deal with him in kind, and whoever considers the blood of fighters and mothers of martyrs to be permissible.” He will get the punishment he deserves.

The Hamas movement also announced that the persecution of resistance members by the security apparatus of the Palestinian Authority has reached a dangerous level.
