Belousov’s contact with the head of the Pentagon about the secret operation of Ukraine against Russia
Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belusov called Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin for the first time since taking office. According to the New York Times, the purpose of this call was to discuss the upcoming secret operation from Ukraine.
Belusov told his American counterpart that the Russian special services have found out that Ukraine is preparing a secret operation against Russia. He asked whether the Pentagon knew about the plot and whether Austin knew the plan could escalate tensions between Moscow and Washington. The American side was surprised by this issue and seriously raised this issue with the Ukrainians.
The New York Times writes: “Despite Ukraine’s deep dependence on the United States for military, intelligence and diplomatic support, Ukrainian officials have not always been honest with their American counterparts about their military operations, particularly against Russian targets.”
The publication noted that the United States is unhappy with the terrorist attacks on the western coast of Crimea, the destruction of the Crimean bridge and drone attacks. The Pentagon asked the Ukrainian side not to do what they planned, but did not say what exactly was in these plans.
It was previously reported that Andrey Belusov reviewed the organization of combat training of military personnel at the Leningrad military site.
