The disclosure of the German media about the transfer of prohibited weapons from Berlin to Kiev!
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr news agency quoted Rashatudi, the German radio-television network NDR, pointing out that the US uses the territory of Berlin as a transit point for bombs and cluster munitions to Ukraine, and this action is a violation of the convention The United Nations knew about the ban on these weapons.
According to the UN Convention approved in 2008, more than 110 countries have banned cluster munitions. The reason for this ban is the severe danger that this ammunition poses to civilians.
The spokesperson of the US Army Command in Europe and Africa told this network that these ammunitions were stored in an arsenal owned by the US in the city of Maysau in western Germany and from there. It will be sent to Ukraine.
He added that 155 mm cluster bombs M864 and M483A1 are among the ammunitions stored in this military base.
An international human rights organization, quoting the “Cluster Ammunition Coalition”, announced that the issuance of a license to transfer these weapons to Ukraine can be considered a violation of Germany’s obligations under the treaty It was signed in Berlin in 2008.
According to this agreement, it is prohibited to keep and transfer this type of ammunition through the territory of any country that is a member of this agreement. This treaty also obliges the signatories to persuade other countries that are not members to refrain from using cluster munitions.
According to the NDR report, Berlin “has not made any significant efforts” to prevent the transfer of these ammunitions to Kiev. German authorities have refused to respond to this report. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also claimed in an interview with this media that “firstly, I don’t know where they are being transferred from and secondly, I will not comment on it”!
Pistorius also claims that although the US military records the transfer of ammunition through Germany, the German military “knows nothing about the ammunition individually.” This claim contradicts the statement of the spokesperson of the European and African Command of the US Army. He said that the German army “receives documents related to the contents of all shipments.”
