Re-intensification of conflicts in Sudan
At least 22 people were killed following the attack of Sudan’s rapid support forces on the city of “Al-Fishir” in this country, which is still under the control of the Sudanese army, and the worst casualties in the country’s civil war were recorded in recent weeks.
According to Reuters, the resistance committees of al-Fishir city say that the rapid support forces fired artillery shells at markets, hospitals and residential apartments and used a drone to target a hospital.
Al-Fishir is the last city in the “Darfur” region in western Sudan, which is still under the control of this country’s army.
The power struggle between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, which began in April 2023, quickly turned into a large-scale conflict and has since become one of the worst humanitarian crises in the country. It is said that this conflict has left more than 15,500 dead so far; However, in some estimates, the number of those killed reaches 150,000.
War and civil conflict have also displaced millions of people. According to the latest statistics, about 12 million people in Sudan have been driven from their homes, which has created one of the biggest displacement crises in the world.
