America, Japan and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin and Japanese and South Korean defense ministers Minoru Kihara and Shin Won-sik signed a memorandum of understanding on trilateral security cooperation.
The US Department of Defense announced in a statement that the representatives of the three countries emphasized the need for political consultations as well as the exchange of information and trilateral exercises in order to “enhance peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula, the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.” They did.
Also, in this meeting, the ministers expressed their concern about North Korea’s cooperation with Russia, as well as the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between these two countries.
Meanwhile, North Korea has vowed today to “completely destroy” its enemies if war breaks out and when Kim Jong-un gives the order.
Earlier, North Korea’s foreign ministry noted that the United States, Japan and South Korea are trying to create an alliance like the “Asian version of NATO”. North Korean diplomats pointed to the regularity of joint military exercises between the three countries. In addition, an agreement was signed between these three governments that all three countries will start interacting in case of threats against any of the parties.
