Lavrov: The complete destruction of Hamas is not realistic
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said this Sunday, in response to the incident in the city of Majdal Shams in the occupied Syrian Golan, that Moscow still sees no prospect of ending the bloodshed in the West Asia.
According to the Sama Al-Akhbariya report, he added: There is still no prospect of ending this bloodshed.
The Russian Foreign Minister continued: Israel has repeatedly responded to requests for an immediate ceasefire through Benjamin Netanyahu and said that it will not stop until it completely destroys Hamas. It is an impossible task to destroy an organization that exists and has sufficient capabilities and support, including in the Islamic world, to be completely destroyed.
Lavrov also stated: Considering that “Israel has rejected an immediate ceasefire”, some specific countries are trying to put forward new compromise proposals to end the violence step by step.
In this regard, Vasiliy Nebenzia, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said yesterday: The Gaza peace plan proposed by US President Joe Biden hinders efforts to develop new resolutions that require an immediate ceasefire.
