The Qatari minister condemned the insult to Christ at the Olympics

The opening of the Paris Olympics, which was accompanied by an insult to Christ, provoked many criticisms, including the criticism of the Minister of Interior of Qatar.

A Qatari minister condemned the scene that was considered an insult to Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games held by France, and considered it an insult to religions. .

According to Al-Quds al-Arabi report, Luluwah bint Rashid Al-Khater, Qatar’s minister of international affairs, considered the way Jesus was depicted in the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics to be insulting and inappropriate.

In a statement published on his official page on the X platform, he wrote: As a Muslim, I completely reject and condemn the way of describing Jesus Christ, peace be upon him. I express my solidarity with my fellow Christians who were offended. 

Qatar Interior Minister said: What we saw is absolutely disgusting, but unfortunately this is not the first time we see this shameful display of Christ in some Western media and art productions. Some claim that they are free from religion, but in reality they are captured by their uncontrolled desires.

This Qatari minister ended his tweet with a verse from the Holy Quran about Jesus and announced: God’s peace be upon Jesus son of Mary, which is a word from the words of God.

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics was held while there were many criticisms of some of the scenes that were held, which can be mentioned as a mockery of the Last Supper of Christ by Leonardo da Vinci. In this regard, The bishops of France announced in a statement: This ceremony unfortunately brought scenes of mockery of Christianity, which we deeply regret.
