Guterres: The exchange of fire in southern Lebanon must stop

On Sunday evening, the Secretary General of the United Nations called for an end to the exchange of fire on both sides of the Blue Line in southern Lebanon.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres reacted to the Majdal Shams incident in the occupied Golan on Sunday evening.

In his speech, he said: “We condemn the killing of 12 civilians, most of whom were children and teenagers, in the Druze village of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan.”

Guterres added: “We call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and once again ask to prevent any escalation of tension.”

The Secretary General of the United Nations added: “The exchange of fire on both sides of the blue line must be stopped immediately and all sides must adhere to international laws.”

Israeli sources reported yesterday evening (Saturday, July 27) that a missile hit the “Majdal Shams” area in the occupied Syrian Golan, killing 11 people and injuring 30 others, and immediately pointed the finger of blame at Lebanon’s Hezbollah. They left.

This was accompanied by Hezbollah’s reaction, which strongly denied the attack on Majdal Shams. Eyewitnesses also confirmed that the rocket fired by Israel’s Iron Dome (regime) hit this area.
