It is impossible to destroy Hamas tunnels in Gaza

Analysts and military circles of the Zionist regime acknowledged the futility of the idea of sinking the tunnels of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

In an article referring to the failure of the Zionist regime in destroying the Hamas tunnels in Gaza, Roy Elyoum wrote that the failure of the occupying army in the so-called “Atlantis” operation, which was aimed at sinking these tunnels, is similar to other failures of the Israeli army (regime) It was added to the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the brutal attack.

Meanwhile, the Zionist media “Haaretz” while acknowledging the failure of the occupying army to overcome the problem of tunnels, described the idea of drowning as ineffective.

A Zionist officer also told Haaretz: The army thought that sinking the tunnels would destroy Hamas forces, but this did not happen.

This Zionist media further pointed to the special engineering of Hamas tunnels and added: Recently there have been debates and controversies in Israeli circles and they have raised the question why the Hamas tunnels did not sink during the past years as a result of the rain and this They came to the conclusion that Hamas built the tunnels in a special way and followed all the necessary rules against rain.

On the other hand, a security source in Tel Aviv told Haaretz that what the army was trained before the war from the ground to the sky is different from the reality that is in front of the soldiers.

Haaretz referring to the statement of “Herzi Holloway”, the chief of staff of the Zionist regime, on January 30, 2024, who considered the Atlantis project a good idea; According to Anshil Babar, his analyst wrote: Israeli army (regime) officers believe that the Gaza tunnel network is much bigger and more winding than it is thought. Army circles have come to believe that their forces are not capable of destroying all Hamas and Islamic Jihad tunnels in Gaza.

This analyst added: These tunnels existed before the formation of Hamas in 1987 and will remain after the current war. It was thought that once they took control of the areas on the ground in a few weeks, Hamas forces would be forced out of the tunnels due to the lack of oxygen, water and food, but this was wrong, as it turned out that the tunnels were not only equipped with food and water. They are for a long time, but they are designed in such a way that it is possible to move forces in different areas of Gaza.

According to this analyst, the New York Times recently estimated the length of the tunnel network in Gaza to be 700 km, citing high-ranking security officials, and this contradicts the estimate of 400 km at the beginning of the war. Assuming that all the main tunnels are discovered, and even those that are discovered, there is no time to destroy them. The army has discovered 1,000 tunnel openings so far and there are probably thousands more. It seems that Hamas has the ability to repair the tunnels. The security centers must admit that the destruction of the tunnels was an unrealistic goal from the beginning and that these tunnels will remain under Gaza.
