Putin congratulated Maduro on his re-election victory in Venezuela

The President of Russia congratulated Nicolás Maduro on his victory in the presidential elections of Venezuela.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Sputnik, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Nicolás Maduro on his re-victory in the Venezuelan presidential election.

In a statement published by the Kremlin, Putin emphasized his readiness to continue constructive cooperation with Venezuela on current bilateral and international issues.

Nicolas Maduro, as the main candidate of the left-wing parties, won 51% of the votes and remained the president of Venezuela for the third time and for another 6 years.

Venezuela’s National Election Council announced that with 80 percent of the votes counted, Nicolás Maduro won the presidential election for the third time with 51.2 percent of the votes. Edmundo González, the main candidate of the western trends and the main rival of Maduro, won 44% of the votes.
