Passenger train derailment in India/ 22 people were killed and injured
report Mehr News Agency quoted Reuters, after a passenger train derailed in India, at least 2 people were killed and 20 others were injured.
Hindustan Times wrote that the Howrah-Bombay express train derailed near the city of Jamshedpur in the state of Jharkhand in eastern India.
According to this media, the said incident happened after the departure of a freight train which was approaching a passenger train from the opposite direction, which continued to the departure of the train. Passenger transport leads from the rail.
Emergency and relief teams present at the scene of the accident said that about 18 train cars derailed. India’s long railway network is considered the main route of traffic and travel in this vast country, but poor infrastructure often leads to fatal accidents.
According to official data, between 2017 and 2021, an average of 20,000 people died in rail accidents. These trains transport more than 21 million people daily.
