Qingte was speaking at the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Coalition on China (IPAC). This coalition is made up of members of parliament from more than 20 countries with a focus on the type of relationship with China.
In this meeting, he thanked 49 legislators of 23 countries as well as the European Parliament for traveling to Taipei and communicating with this island, and claimed that the delegations of this countries to Taiwan from “the importance of this island for different countries”!
The president of Taiwan claimed: I must emphasize that China’s threat against any country is a threat against the world. Taiwan will spare no effort to join democratic partners and strengthen the umbrella of democracy, as well as protect democratic countries against the threat caused by the spread of authoritarianism.
Lai went on to say that Taiwan “must prepare for war in order to avoid war and achieve peace through power.”

He claimed: We are also interested in negotiating instead of confronting China. The president of Taiwan also claimed that China’s possible attack on this autonomous island has far greater global consequences than the war in Ukraine or the Covid-19 pandemic.
China considers the island of Taiwan as part of its territory. According to Beijing, Lai, who assumed the presidency of this island on May 20 this year, is a “separatist and dangerous element”.
Three days after his inauguration, Beijing held a large-scale exercise around Taiwan. China called Chingte’s remarks at the inauguration ceremony provocative and emphasized that what was said at the ceremony was an acknowledgment of “Taiwan separatism”. Although China has always emphasized the peaceful annexation of Taiwan, it has not rejected the use of force to annex this island.
