Who was Ismail Haniyeh nicknamed Abul Al-Abd?
According to Mehr News Agency, Official sources in Tehran announced the martyrdom of Ismail Hanieh, head of the political office of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas.
Abu Al-Abd Ismail Hanieh, born in 1963, (60 years old) was one of the senior leaders of the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas. On May 6, 2017, he became the new head of the Hamas office and replaced Khalid Meshaal.
Personal life and family
Ismail Hanieh, with the full name of Ismail Abdus Salam Ahmed Hanieh with the nickname Abu Al-Abd, was born on January 29, 1963 in Al-Shati camp in Gaza. . The main place of his family’s life before displacement was al-Jurah village in Ashkelon.
Education period
He completed his primary and secondary education in UNRWA schools in al-Shati camp in Gaza. He completed his high school education at Al-Azhar Seminary in Gaza and entered the Islamic University of Gaza in 1981 and became a member of the Islamic Association of this university. He was also a member of the university’s student council from 1983 to 1984 and the president of the university’s student council from 1985 to 1986. He received a bachelor’s degree in Arabic from the Faculty of Education of the Islamic University of Gaza.
Exile
On 12/17/1992, he was deported to Marj al-Zohor in southern Lebanon along with 415 leaders and activists of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
Unsuccessful assassination
Ismail Hanieh describes the details of his unsuccessful assassination operation as follows: On 09/06/2003 AD. We went to see Dr. Marwan Abu Ras with Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. When we had lunch at his house, suddenly an F-16 plane bombed the place where we were. The roof collapsed and smoke and dust escaped everywhere. Thanks to God, we managed to get out of the house and God saved us and the family of Dr. Abu Ras.
