Implementation of the largest prisoner exchange agreement between Russia and the United States
A Turkish security official announced the implementation of the largest prisoner exchange agreement between the United States and Russia.
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, a Turkish source confirmed in a conversation with Al Jazeera: The prisoner exchange operation between America and Russia took place at the Ankara airport under the supervision of Turkish forces.
He further added: This exchange of prisoners between the two sides is considered the biggest operation since World War II.
Previously, a prominent American official emphasized in a conversation with Al Jazeera network: A major prisoner exchange operation will be conducted today between America and Russia.
He further added: According to this agreement, 16 prisoners, including three Americans and nationals of other countries, are to be exchanged for eight Russian citizens.
