Referring to the cancellation of martial law in the country from today, the president of Bangladesh said that elections will be held as soon as possible.

report Mehr News Agency quoted by Bloomberg, Mohammad Shahabuddin, the President of Bangladesh, during a nationwide speech, while stressing the release of the protesters who were jailed during the recent student demonstrations, said that soon in this country Elections will be held.

Shahabuddin announced in this speech that he ordered the release of Khaleda Zia, the former prime minister and leader of the opposition to the government of Sheikh Hasina, the resigned and fugitive prime minister of Bangladesh. .

According to him, the regulations of the martial law have been canceled this morning (Tuesday) local time and the guilds have been allowed to reopen.

Hasina resigned and then fled to India after widespread anti-government protests that began more than two weeks ago in Bangladesh with student demonstrations in response to government job quotas.

Bangladesh Army Chief Waqarul Zaman confirmed yesterday that Hasina has resigned and an interim government is to be formed in Bangladesh.
