Russia’s protest against Israel’s behavior in the Security Council meetings

In a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, "Vasily Nebenzia" protested Israel's inappropriate behavior in inviting people as guests and their presence in the Security Council hall in order to disrupt the order of the council's meetings.

According to Mehr News Agency, “Vasily Nebenzia”, ​​Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations in New York, wrote in a letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres: I would like to draw your attention to the unacceptable incident that occurred during the second session of the signing of the Russian presidency in the Security Council. .

This incident happened during an open discussion on the topic of “The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue” held on July 17 and chaired by Mr. Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

A group of people who were invited by the Permanent Mission of Israel as “guests of the delegation” entered the Security Council hall and tried to disrupt the meeting by chanting.

Such behavior is unacceptable; It is also a cause for concern that the Permanent Representative of Israel, who was invited to the Council meeting according to Law 37, is directly involved in this incident.

Russia, as a member of the Security Council, requests that you take the necessary measures to ensure that access to the forum is restricted to official representatives only; While it is protocol for visitors to sit in the balcony only, and that inviting agencies are informed of their responsibility to educate guests about the restrictions on council meetings.

Also, please coordinate with the [regime] Permanent Mission of Israel to provide an explanation for this incident and ensure that it does not happen again in the future.
