Russia’s Kursk border region is under Ukrainian fire/complicated situation

The acting governor of Russia's Kursk region says that the situation in the region remains complicated due to the large-scale attack by Ukraine.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Aleksey Smirnov, the acting governor of the Kursk region, said that the situation in Kursk is complicated, referring to the large-scale attack of Ukraine on the region.

He wrote on his Telegram channel: The situation in the Kursk region is still difficult and complicated. With the cooperation of social services and non-governmental organizations, an aid and cooperation mechanism has been established for people who are displaced inside the region.

According to him, a humanitarian aid warehouse has been set up in the Kursk region, and the necessary materials and necessities flow to this warehouse from other regions of Russia. In addition, sources of electricity, drinking water and medicine have been opened.

On August 6, the Ukrainian army organized a massive attack against Kursk, and the missile attack siren was activated several times in this area. At least five civilians were killed as a result of the bombing and drone attacks. According to the latest reports, more than 60 people, including 9 children, have been injured. Local residents are moving to Moscow and Moscow suburbs.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia has announced that the combat group “North” together with the Federal Security Service of Russia prevented the attempt of Ukrainian forces to enter the districts of Sudzha and Kurnovo in Kursk. .
