Lebanon Prime Minister Najib Miqani recently visited Iraq and tried to persuade the country’s government to pay Beirut’s $700 million debt to Baghdad in the implementation of the fuel export agreement to Lebanon. In exchange for receiving services, except that it seems that he has not been successful in this field.

In a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart, the Prime Minister of Iraq demanded that in order to resume the implementation of the fuel supply agreement for Lebanon, Beirut, without eliminating the previous debt, another credit line of 700 million dollars for Baghdad. create.

Wassim Mansouri, head of the Central Bank of Lebanon, also refused to do this and declared that this action violates the country’s monetary laws.
