According to Politico, Hungary has proposed rebranding Lukoil products to crude oil shipped through Ukraine before passing through Merz, to be officially sold to the Hungarian Energy Company.
The Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office has announced that this agreement will be implemented as soon as an agreement is reached with the Ukrainian side.
Since June, Ukraine has stopped the transportation of crude oil supplied by the Russian company Lukoil through the Druzhba pipeline due to the sanction of this company. This action directly deprived Hungary and Slovakia of the oil exported by Lukoil.
