France rejected the request of the Russian authorities to provide an explanation about the arrest of the founder of the Telegram program.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, citing Sputnik, the Russian Embassy in France issued a statement announcing that it submitted a request to the French authorities to state the reasons for the arrest of Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram program, and demanded the guarantee of rights He and his access to the Russian consulate.

This statement continues: Russia’s request to the French authorities received a negative response, and the French side continues to refuse to interact with Moscow on this issue.

The Russian Elium news base reported in an urgent news on Sunday morning, quoting the French TV channel TF1, that Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, on Saturday evening at Le Bourget airport in the suburbs of Paris. He was arrested by the police.

According to this French TV channel, Durov had traveled to France from the Republic of Azerbaijan and was arrested at Le Bourget airport when he got off his private plane.

French media have announced that the founder of Telegram has been accused by French authorities of crimes against children and has been arrested at the request of the relevant department in France.

These media said that Durov is considered an accomplice in these matters due to his lack of cooperation with the French authorities regarding some crimes.

French media stated that the founder of Telegram may face charges including terrorism, drug trafficking and money laundering; Crimes that may be punishable by up to 20 years in prison in France.
