Grossi entered the Kursk nuclear power plant
According to Mehr News Agency to According to Sputnik, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, entered the city of Kurchatov in order to visit the nuclear power plant of this region amid the escalation of tensions after Ukraine’s attack on the Kursk region of Russia.
Upon arriving in this area, Grossi said: The safety and security of all nuclear power plants is the main concern of the agency. Since the new developments and the increase in the level of military activity in the vicinity of the Kursk nuclear power plant, I have personally carefully monitored the developments in the field, especially the developments related to this power plant.
He added: “The important thing is to be ready when the agency is asked to fulfill its requirements in order to ensure the peaceful use of nuclear energy.”
Grossi also emphasized that the safety and security of nuclear facilities should not be compromised under any circumstances. Grossi’s statements were made while one of the cooling towers of the Kursk power plant caught fire after the Ukrainian drone attack.
