According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, citing Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed, Palestinian sources reported that the Zionist regime seized the bodies of 552 martyrs and refused to hand them over.
These sources stated: the number of bodies of Palestinian martyrs seized by the occupying regime has reached 552 bodies and this regime has placed them in morgues and the cemetery known as “Garman Cemetery” “maintains 256 of these bodies are in the cemetery and 296 have been confiscated since 2015. 9 bodies seized are women and 55 bodies belong to people under the age of 18.
The aforementioned sources announced: Since the beginning of the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, the Zionist regime has confiscated the bodies of 149 martyrs, and this does not include the martyrs from the Gaza Strip. The seized bodies of the martyrs of the Gaza Strip are estimated by the Zionist regime to be hundreds of tons, and the Zionist regime does not announce specific figures in this regard.
On the other hand, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement announced on the national day of the repatriation of the bodies of martyrs: the occupying regime has returned the bodies of hundreds of martyrs, including the bodies of prisoners who were kept in the prisons of the Zionist regime, especially in They died under torture and medical neglect in “Sadi Timan” camp, kept and not handed over. This regime continues to cover up its crimes against prisoners and martyrs, which have increased since the Al-Aqsa storm operation. Stealing the bodies of martyrs after burying them in Gaza is another crime and a clear violation of all international laws. We adhere to solving this case, which is one of our priorities.
It should be said that the bodies of Palestinians who were martyred in the prisons of the Zionist regime are not handed over to their families. They are buried in separate secret cemeteries, where each grave is numbered and only the occupation regime’s internal security service (Shabak) is able to identify the numbers. The Palestinians and the residents of the occupied lands call them “Graveyard of Figures”.
