One-year extension of the UNIFIL mission in Lebanon

The United Nations Security Council agreed to extend the temporary mission of the United Nations peacekeeping forces in Lebanon for another year.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, according to Al-Nashrah, the United Nations Security Council has adopted a new decision regarding the United Nations peacekeeping forces known as UNIFIL in Lebanon.

Based on this, the members of the UN Security Council unanimously extended the temporary mission of the UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon for another year.

It should be said that UNIFIL was established in 1978 and patrols the borders of Lebanon. The temporary mission of these forces is determined annually, and according to last year’s decision of the United Nations Security Council, the mission of these forces was supposed to end on Saturday of the preceding week, but with today’s decision of this council, the mission of UNIFIL forces was extended for another year. /p>
