The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany has claimed in this statement that the license of the Goethe German Language Institute in Tehran has never been revoked.

The German Foreign Ministry claimed: “The German Language Institute in Tehran is an independent and financially self-sufficient institution that offers German language classes and authorized tests.”

The German Foreign Ministry, while stating that the Goethe Institute received an official license to provide its services from the Iranian government in 1995, claimed: “This license has not been officially canceled until today. The Institute of German Language Education did not receive any legal justification for its closure on August 20, 2024, and no search warrant was submitted on that day.

It should be mentioned that the Tehran Times, an English-language newspaper of Tehran, in an article 3 days ago called the Goethe Institute of German Language Education a cover-up center and pointed to the illegal activity of this center in Iran.

Tehran Times newspaper, affiliated with the Islamic Propaganda Organization, wrote in its report 3 days ago that the Goethe Institute for German Language Education was operating as a center for “covert operations for the German government”.

In its report, this English-language newspaper published in Tehran called the Goethe German Language School “directly under the supervision of the German Goethe Institute” and one of its accusations is “financial support of underground music, dance and film groups whose content is contrary to customs and legal standards.” and the moral of the country” he said.

The “Tehran Times” report states: “This institute also helped the German government to create extensive influence networks inside Iran by identifying talented people. This center has also identified elite people and illegally helped them get scholarships in Germany.”

The buildings of the Goethe Institute of German Language Education in Tehran were sealed in August 1403. Mizan, the news agency of the Judiciary, stated that the reason was “violation of the laws of the country” and the commission of “numerous illegal acts and extensive financial violations”.
