Typhoon “Yagi” entered Myanmar/the military government asked for foreign aid
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News, according to Reuters, following the arrival of super typhoon “Yagi” in Myanmar after hitting China, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand, which has resulted in significant deaths and property damage, Myanmar’s military government chief Min Aung Hlaing called for foreign aid to deal with this deadly storm.
Yagi has made more than 235 thousand people homeless in Myanmar. A total of around 300 people have died since this deadly storm entered Asia last week.
An English-language newspaper owned by the Myanmar government quoted Heling as saying that he visited the flooded areas. It asked local authorities to continue rescue operations, which include “contacting foreign countries to receive humanitarian aid for the victims of this incident.”
Until now, the Myanmar army has prevented foreign humanitarian aid from entering the country. Last year, this country suspended the travel permit of foreign aid groups that intended to help about one million victims of the powerful storm “Mocha” in the west of this country.
Currently, more than 2.7 million people in Myanmar have been displaced by the violent conflict following the military coup of 2018. 2021, they are displaced.
