The crisis of the drying up of Turkish lakes

Reports indicate that 186 out of 240 lakes in Turkey have dried up in the last 60 years.

According to mehr reporter to Quoting from Hurriyet, a Turkish expert warned that many lakes in Turkey have dried up in the past years and the rest of the lakes are exposed to drought and pollution.

Erul Kesici, an expert of the Turkish Nature Protection Association, said about this: Out of the total of 240 lakes in Turkey, 186 are within 60 Last year it completely dried up and the rest of them are facing many problems including low water level, lack of oxygen level and pollution, they are being destroyed.

Kesichi emphasized: The reason for the problems that have arisen is the delay in finding a suitable solution to solve the basic problems of these lakes.

He also added: that during the past years, the consequences of drought and pollution have greatly increased and Turkey has lost almost all its lakes.

According to this Turkish expert, the water in Turkey’s lakes has decreased drastically and this process continues and this problem is destroying the biodiversity in this country.
