Imam Khamenei approves of a pardon or reduction in sentence for almost 3,000 convicts on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Imam Ja’far Sadiq (pbuh)
On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and Imam Ja'far Sadiq (pbuh), Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has accepted the request of the head of the Judiciary to pardon, reduce, or convert the sentences of approximately 3,000 convicts.
In a letter to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Mohseni Ejei referred to the upcoming blessed birth anniversaries of the Prophet of Islam (pbuh) and Imam Sadiq (pbuh), and he requested approval for the pardon, reduction, and conversion of the sentences of 2,887 people who had been convicted in general and revolutionary courts, the Judiciary Organization of the Armed Forces, and the Governmental Discretionary Punishment Organization.
