Ankara: Türkiye’s entry into “BRICS” is in the interest of the whole world
reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Tass, Numan Kurtolmoş, the speaker of the Turkish Parliament, says that the country’s possible accession to “BRICS” is beneficial not only for Ankara, but for the whole world.
Kurtolmus said in an interview with Tass: Turkey’s presence in BRICS will help the world peace movement much more. Because Türkiye is a country that simultaneously participates in many forms and mechanisms of international cooperation.
According to him, Ankara is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Organization of Turkish Governments, the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership Union and NATO and is a candidate to join the European Union.
He added: Türkiye also has a tendency to develop new tools in the field of alternative foreign policy. This action will strengthen Ankara in the field of foreign policy tools, and we hope that Turkey’s participation in such an organization will help strengthen global peace in the structure of the multipolar order.
The Turkish politician continued: Turkey is on the way to becoming a regional actor due to its geographical-strategic position and playing the role of a bridge between Asia and the West, benefiting from its cultural background and development perspective. And even effective acting has been placed in the structure of the world. From our point of view, BRICS is one of the most important institutions in the structure of the future multipolar world, and for this reason, Ankara’s entry into BRICS will not only limit Turkey but also develop its foreign policy capabilities.
