Maldives joins the genocide case against the Zionist regime
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, Maldives announced that it has submitted a request to join the “genocide” case of the Republic of South Africa against the Zionist regime to the International Court of Justice.
This news is in a statement that Mohamed Moizo, the President of Maldives, on Tuesday on the “X” platform “published, announced.
He said that his country requested to join the lawsuit that the Republic of South Africa submitted to the International Court of Justice at the end of December 2023 against the Zionist regime, in order to implement the United Nations Convention. 1948 approved to prevent genocide.
Moizo pointed out that this request is based on Article 63 of the Statute of the Court, which allows countries to allows them to join the lawsuit with the aim of expressing their opinion about the interpretation of the disputed contract and emphasized the necessity of holding the Zionist regime responsible for its illegal actions in Gaza.
He said: “The rule of law must be ensured and Israel must end the genocide against the Palestinian people.”
Maldives president also announced his country’s support for the Palestinian people and added: Palestine and its capital East Jerusalem should be recognized and this country should be based on the previous borders. It was established in 1967.
It is worth noting that previously, Nicaragua, Colombia, Libya, Mexico, Palestine, Spain and Turkey have joined the case of genocide in Gaza.
