Rockland County officials in a statement confirming the fire, announced the presence of emergency forces and emergency services at the scene.
The authorities have asked the residents of the areas south of the accident site to evacuate the area and the roads leading to the area have been closed.
According to CNN, the fire started from the roof of the building and the cause of the accident is also stated to be a technical defect in the water sprinkler and fire extinguishing system.
Rockland County Sheriff Eric Lovett said that fire crews managed to contain the fire, but the fire flared up again a few hours ago.
