According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency quoted by Russia Al-Youm, Yahya Rasul, the spokesman of the Iraqi armed forces, announced that the country’s army has taken the necessary measures to ensure the security of the Iraqi skies.
The spokesman of the Iraqi Armed Forces emphasized: The Iraqi government, headed by Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani, has paid great attention to the development of air defense capabilities.
Rasoul also pointed to the signing of the contract to purchase advanced air defense systems from South Korea in the past months and added: We need time for these systems to enter the service process.
The spokesman of the Iraqi Armed Forces continued: Iraqi forces have taken the necessary measures to protect the Iraqi skies and all the necessary measures have been taken to ensure the security of the Iraqi skies. Iraq can monitor its skies and track incoming and outgoing planes.
Rasoul pointed out: Korea’s advanced X-16 and K-50 planes, air cargo planes and reconnaissance planes form part of the Iraqi Air Force, which supports Iraq participates in the defense of its sovereignty.
He also said regarding the protection of the borders: All the borders of Iraq, especially the borders of Iraq and Syria, are well secured. These borders have been strengthened in a big way with Iraqi border guards, thermal cameras and listening devices.
