The European Union signed a four-year Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement with Morocco in 2019. The pact, which expired in July last year, also includes trade in Western Sahara agricultural products.

The Polisario Front has launched a series of lawsuits regarding the legality of the inclusion of Western Sahara in the agreements made between the European Union and Rabat.
