reported Mehr News Agency, China has complained to the World Trade Organization against Turkey due to the imposition of heavy tariffs on electric cars.
China’s official statement says: Turkey’s discriminatory action is against the rules of the World Trade Organization and is protectionist in nature. We ask Turkey to comply with WTO rules and correct its actions immediately.
The Turkish government did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In June, Ankara announced an additional 40 percent tariff on car imports from China, and last month imposed tough conditions on hybrid car imports Plugin applied.
