EU foreign ministers meeting for new sanctions against Russia
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News quoted by Sputnik, the high-ranking spokesman of the European Union announced in a conversation with reporters that the foreign ministers of the EU member states will discuss the new sanctions against Russia in their scheduled meeting on October 14 in Luxembourg. They will discuss the framework of the preventive measures mechanism that was approved on October 8.
He said about this: There will be an exchange of views on sanctions. As you know, the new plan and programs were approved on October 8; We expect the member states to propose a sanction list within the framework of the new plan.
Ministers will also discuss the issue of combating the circumvention of sanctions against Russia. This diplomat added: “Probably, the sanctions regime should be changed to make it more difficult to evade the sanctions.”
The Council of the European Union approved a new deterrence mechanism aimed at countering Russia’s alleged “destabilizing actions” abroad. The Council will decide exclusively on what can be considered “combined measures” and “interventions” proposed by EU members or its foreign affairs service.
