Israel hides its crimes by banning the presence of foreign journalists in Gaza

Amnesty International announced that the Zionist regime is trying to hide its crimes against civilians and genocide by preventing foreign journalists from entering occupied Palestine, especially Gaza.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency Citing Al-Mayadin, Amnesty International announced that the Zionist regime prevented teams of foreign journalists from entering the occupied Palestinian territories, especially Gaza can continue to hide the new angles of its crimes and genocide against civilians in Gaza.

This organization, in a news conference held on Friday at its center in Tunis, titled “Voice of Palestine… “Freedom and the call of human rights”, explained this issue.

Ahmed Karoud, a member of Amnesty International, said in this conference: “Preventing the Israeli occupation regime from entering journalists foreign to the Palestinian territories, especially the Gaza Strip, with the aim of concealing crimes committed against civilians and gross violations that amount to genocide.”

Karoud stated that “the journalist in Palestine is not only a news reporter, but also an eyewitness of the events, and therefore, the goal The occupation regime’s reason for preventing journalists from entering is to prevent them from witnessing the tragedies of the Israeli army.”

He also mentioned the martyrdom of more than 160 Palestinian journalists due to their targeting by the occupation regime. And added that a number of others were injured, disappeared or arrested.

After the martyrdom of “Mohammed Al-Tanani”, the photographer of Al-Aqsa Network, earlier this week, the government media office in Gaza announced last Wednesday that the number of martyred Palestinian journalists has reached 176 since the beginning of the Israeli genocide last year.

Al-Tanani was covering the crimes of the occupying regime in the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza, when he and his colleague Tamer Lebed” was injured and was also recording the siege that was imposed on the residents.

During a year of the genocide, Palestinian and international institutions are concerned about the targeting of journalistic teams by the regime army. The Zionists in Gaza have warned that these crimes are happening despite the fact that they are wearing press vests and media hats.

Last September, UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini asked journalists and international media to support their colleagues in Gaza and to put pressure on the Zionist regime to allow news teams to enter Gaza for free reporting.

In the context of targeting journalists by the occupation regime, the American “Committee to Protect Journalists” organization, on Thursday issued a statement condemning the attacks of Zionist forces on journalists last year.

Judy Ginsberg, executive director of the committee, said in a statement: Journalists, without any consequences, the Israeli army has been given permission to continue these crimes.”

This committee, which is headquartered in New York, is concerned about Israel’s failure to investigate the “attack of Israeli expressed dissatisfaction to reporters in southern Lebanon on October 13, 2023. This attack led to the martyrdom of Essam Abdullah, a photographer of the Reuters news agency, and the injury of 6 other people.

Last November, the occupying regime killed Al-Mayadeen reporter Farah Omar and its photographer Rabi Al-Maamari. In the area of Tayir Harfa-Al-Jebin triangle on the border of Lebanon and Palestine, he targeted, which led to their martyrdom.

The committee pointed out that “despite the fact that almost a year has passed since this attack, no one is still responsible for this incident.” Or there have been no similar murders of journalists.” Also, it was announced that “the Israeli army has not yet announced any investigation into the murder of a single journalist”.

The committee added that an investigation conducted by UNIFIL last March showed that “a “The Israeli tank clearly targeted journalists who could be identified, and this is a violation of international law.” The committee also noted that “Israel has carried out a deliberate attack against journalists.”
